I need to tell you how my Kodiak Canvas Flex-bow tent held up in a thunder storm.
Before the Storm
We arrived Wednesday afternoon and the weather was perfect at the Miramone Reservoir, south of Norwood, Colorado, but I have learned from experience to never take the weather for granted, even if there is no rain in the forecast.
I hammered large, strong steel stakes in the ground to the already stout guy lines that come with the Kodiak Canvas Flex-bow tent and went about my business.
Then the Storm Hit
It was about 8:00 pm and Mike and Rachael were out on the lake fishing and some real dark clouds started forming over the mountains to the Southwest.
I sent Mike a text message letting him know they may want to get off the lake.
It didn’t take more than about 45 minutes before this massive thunder storm hit. By the time Mike and Rachael where walking up from the lake, my son and daughter were doing our best to stop the largest “unnamed” tent we have from being swept away in the high winds.
When I say high winds, try 50 to 60 mph or even higher, and then add lightening to that.
We finally saved this “Box Store” tent from blowing away and then jumped in our trucks as the lightening storm was so severe.
It was then that I noticed my Kodiak Canvas Tent was hardly moving in the storm. When I say hardly moving, I couldn’t be more honest with you.
Kodiak Canvas knows how to make tents, and my Flex-bow tent and Mike’s Kodiak Canvas Cabin tent were standing strong in all of those high winds and rain.
After the Storm
I have never been as happy with a tent as I am now after seeing it handle that storm as well as it did. I highly recommend this tent to anyone who wants a strong and stable tent.
