Colorado Alpine Lakes
Mike and I have been wondering and talking about what the fishing is like at Colorado’s high alpine lakes across the state. We’ve been watching many videos on incredible catches, so the only question is, do all of them have trout or only certain lakes?

Well, Mike and Rachael headed out on their first Alpine Lake fishing trip this last month, in August 2023, and they were not disappointed. They caught a lot of beautiful trout and saw some monster trout that wouldn’t take their lures. They were spin casting on this fishing trip. Here’s some of the lures they had success with.

Final Thoughts
We’re heading back out this September for another round of fishing at this lake, but this time, we’ll be fly fishing as we believe that’s what will land the big trout in that lake.
