In September 2022 we went off-road on Imogene Pass between Ouray and Telluride Colorado and it was incredible!
Imogene Pass
Imogene Pass is located in southwest Colorado between Ouray and Telluride.
This is a major off-road, 4-wheel or ATV trail well-known in the 4-wheel community. The elevation at the top of Imogene Pass is 13,114 feet and offers incredible views in all directions. There are also several high altitude lakes that may be great for trout fishing but that is something we didn’t get to do on this trip.
The best place to stage and start your off-road adventure, especially if you’re pulling your jeep or ATV is on the south side of Ouray. See the location in the image below.
The road/trail is only open from sometime in July until early October, depending on when the first snow storm hits.

Here are some incredible photos we took on the ride up to Imogene pass from the Ouray side. Enjoy!
