Portable Buddy Field Test
- Connect the Propane Canister to the Portable Buddy
- Check the Outside and Inside Temperatures.
- Light the Portable Buddy Propane Heater.
- Turn knob to High, close Tent Door and Let it Heat the Tent for 30 Minutes.
- Check the Outside and Inside Air Temperature Again.
- Open all the Tent Doors and Windows to get the Inside Temperature Back Down.
- Check the Inside Temperature Again.

- Hook up the Gas Filter, and the Adapter Hose to the 20 lb. Propane Tank

- Remove air from hose and light the Big Buddy Heater.
- Run the Mr. Heater Big Buddy Propane Heater on High for 30 Minutes.
- Check the Inside Temperature one Last Time.

Results of Cold Weather Field Test
- Portable Buddy Raised the Tent Temperature to 65 degrees (F)
- Big Buddy Raised the Tent Temperature to 84 degrees (F)
- The Mr. Heater Big Buddy Raised the temperature inside the tent 19 degrees (F) more then the Mr. Heater Portable Buddy in a 30-minute test.
- The Big Buddy lasted me about one and a half days of use versus the Portable Buddy lasting around 5 hours on low.
Final Thoughts
I love having both of these Mr. Heater propane heaters and will be using them a lot on future camping trips, but I will always go to the Big Buddy heater on extreme cold winter nights here in Colorado.
