Here is the Kodiak Canvas Tent Take Down Instructions and my YouTube video at the bottom of the page.
Tent Take Down Instructions
As you can see, there’s not a lot of information here so I’ll list out each step below for how I take my tent down.
Rick’s Take Down Instructions
- Clean the tent out. I always keep a small broom and dust pan with me.
- Close up all windows, but leave the top open a little. This will help let the air out when you fold your tent up.
- Lower the vertical poles that support the ridge pole.
- Remove all smaller vertical poles, Guy lines and stakes.
- Remove the taller vertical poles and the ridge pole.
- Keep the tent stakes in the ground while you arrange the tent to be rolled up.
- Pull the top of the tent over to one size and make sure it’s smooth, and fold the front and back of the tent under the top of the tent you just folded over.
- Remove the tent stakes out of the ground.
- Lay your tent bag out at one end to get an idea of how much to fold the tent.
- Fold each side of the tent into the middle about a foot from the middle.
- Clean the dirt of the bottom of the tent while folding it up. (It’s best to put a tarp under your tent for this reason)
- Fold one side of the ten over the other side, but leave about one foot of the folded side back from the other edge of the tent.
- Begin rolling the tent up from the opposite side of where you laid the tent bag. Tip: start rolling the tent pretty tight so it will be smaller when you get it all rolled up.
- Clean the dirt, rocks, etc. off the bottom of the tent as you roll it up.
- Tip: If it’s raining or the tent is wet, you need to set it back up at home to let it dry out the roll it back up.
- Place the tent into the tent bag.
- Place the tent poles into the separate bag.
- Place the tent stakes in the small bag and put them inside the tent bag.
- Roll up each Guy line separately so they won’t be tangled when you get them out in the future.
- Go home and relax.
