Check out my latest MAVEN Spotting Scope Review & Field Test.
Field Test Setup
My field test consisted of setting up on top of a hill near my home, overlooking some great ranch land here in Colorado. I set up early in the evening, about two hours before sunset and started scanning the tree line for Mule Deer.
I began looking for the deer using the MAVEN Rangefinder. This helped me scan the area more quickly as it does not have the magnification strength the MAVEN Spotting Scope has, which allows me to see a larger area of the ranch land.
It wasn’t long before the Mule Deer started to come out of the trees, but the Mule Deer Bucks were a little more cautious and it took more time to find them.
The First Mule Deer Buck Shows Up
I had around 15 to 20 Mule Deer that showed up throughout the evening. Here are a few photos through the spotting scope.
Finally, Some Bucks Showed Up!
These bucks showed up about 1100 yards away so it was difficult to know for sure how big they were.
